Learning Designer & Gamification Coach

Work experience

I design and implement engaging educational activities to upskill and reskill people on skills for the 21st century. I provide training and education on soft skills, coaching and consulting on experiential learning, gamification and game-based learning, facilitate meetings and workshops, and occasionally do game design, always focusing on learning. I collaborate with freelance trainers, NGOs and purpose-driven companies worldwide to fulfil my mission.

When I facilitate, I focus on the learners creating the content. At the same time, I provide the structure for them to thrive in a creative and collaborative process through which everyone learns by experience, has fun, and is ready to apply the skills gained directly into action!

I absolutely love volunteering and have been doing so for more than two decades, starting even before getting won over by international youth work, which revealed my passion for Non-Formal Education and Experiential Learning. I've worked for various youth organisations, international, European and national NGOs and informal local groups.

I've proudly co-designed the Training of Advanced Trainers of IFMSA (the world's largest medical students' association, present in 123 countries on six continents) and delivered TAT courses for the organisation across the globe. I have served as Speaker of the AEGEE-Academy (the official pool of trainers of AEGEE-Europe - one of Europe's largest interdisciplinary youth organisations) and tripled its capacity while improving its strategic position. I have delivered more than 700 hours of training/facilitation in a multicultural context to over 2000 learners in more than 80 international events for over 40 organisations on three continents.

I'm an active member of the International Youth Work Trainers Guild (IYWT), the Octalysis Prime community of gamification experts, Factory Berlin (the largest tech hub in Europe), and the Trainers' Forum (TsF) community.

I also have professional experience as a podcaster, web & graphic designer, cinema manager, computer or sound technician and singer/stage performer. I do, however, value my volunteer experience more, as I feel I have developed many more skills non-formally rather than formally by being given a chance to manage a team or coordinate a project/event and, above all, to teach people in an experiential, interactive and fun way, which has led to pursuing a professional career as a soft skills trainer/facilitator and consultant.

I regularly hold workshops and courses on 21st-century skills for young people, coaching and consulting on experiential learning, gamification and games-based learning for purpose-oriented companies and freelancers.

I have also worked as a visiting professor for GBSB (Global Business School Barcelona) from 2020 to 2022, teaching "Enabling Gamification through Digital Technologies" in the Fall Quarter of the Online Master in Digital Business.
